Sloodle Island coming soon

Dan Livingstone of the Sloodle project (which we happen to fund :-) ) has made the following announcement to the virtualworlds@jiscmail.ac.uk mailing list:
Hi all,

For information, the Sloodle project (http://www.sloodle.org/) should have its new island open within the next few weeks. Plots of land will be available free to educators who will be using Sloodle with their classes. Sloodle features a number of tools which integrate learning and teaching activities across the open source Moodle VLE and Second Life (chat, blog, quizzes, 'choice' voting tool, glossaries and gradebook courseworks)

If your institution does not use Moodle, or if you ar unable to have Sloodle installed we may also be able to offer support with Moodle hosting for your classes.

If you are interested, please reply here:

regards,
Daniel

Sloodle at ISTE

For my second outing last night (who says I need to get out more!) I attended a Sloodle presentation by Buddy Spocket and Giannina Rossini, hosted by ISTE on their in-world island.

This was a well attended and useful session, covering a number of features that the Sloodle team have developed including a neat demo of the in-world Moodle blogging facility and chatroom integration.

The Sloodle project certainly seems to be generating a lot of interest. It's worth noting that SloodleMoot kicks off at midnight on Friday (18th Jan) UK time for those of you that are interested in finding out more.

Second Life Learning Management Systems survey

Those of you with an interest in how Learning Management Systems (read Virtual Leaning Environments for readers in the UK :-) ) can be integrated into Second Life may like to note that the Sloodle project are currently undertaking some requirements gathering via an online survey.

If you have views on this area, please take time to complete it. Thanks.

Eduserv-funded SL projects

The posters are also available in Slideshare. They have been developed in preparation for our stand at ALT-C in September.

The projects are:
